GENERAL INFORMATION EXTREME DOG RACE

Pre-Race Information

Registration: all competitors must report to registration with their dog and the dog’s harness (the harness does not have to be worn by the dog) approximately one hour before their scheduled start.

Please check in under your surname.

Your start number and start time will be published in the start list, which will be sent no later than Wednesday prior to the race.

Please present your vaccination record for inspection of mandatory vaccinations: Rabies – mandatory, combined vaccination DHP – recommended.

Dogs must be permanently identifiable (tattoo or microchip). In accordance with Act No. 302/2017 Coll., dogs in the Czech Republic must be identified by a microchip.

By prior arrangement, it is possible to rent running equipment (canicross sets) from ManMat.

Timing and Starts

Race time is measured using a wrist-mounted timing chip, which you will receive at registration. The chip must be worn on the wrist.

Each competitor must check in with the chip at the start and check out at the finish by placing the chip on the reader and verifying that the green indicator light turns on.

If the timing chip is lost or not returned, the competitor will not be included in the official results.

Race Rules and Participation

Dogs/female dogs must be at least 12 months old to participate. In FAMILY, JUNIOR, and FUN categories, the minimum age is 10 months.  Dogs must show no signs of uncontrolled aggression (a muzzle is permitted if necessary). The competitor (or legal guardian in the case of minors) is fully responsible for the dog/female dog at all times.

Dogs/female dogs may start only in a properly fitting harness, attached to a canicross waist belt using a shock-absorbing leash (Norwegian-style harnesses and running with a dog on a collar are strictly prohibited).

The right-of-way rule applies: slower competitors must give way to faster competitors on the course and at obstacles and must not deliberately block the route. Faster competitors are required to announce themselves clearly when overtaking. If a competitor is unable to complete an obstacle, they must complete an alternative task or handicap designated by the organizer or an authorized official in order to continue the race. This does not apply to the FUN category, where obstacles are optional.

TEAM+ Category

TEAM+ is a race for two runners with one dog. The dog is attached to one runner only. The runner without the dog must complete all obstacles in the same manner as the runner with the dog. Team members run together and in one line (they complete obstacles one after another and must not occupy multiple lanes). If one team member fails to complete an obstacle, all team members must complete the assigned handicap. Team members must finish together. The runner wearing the timing chip must check out at the finish; otherwise, the team will not be classified.

JUNIOR Category

The JUNIOR category is a ranked and evaluated category. No accompanying person is allowed on the race course with the junior competitor. Any assistance on the course or at obstacles may result in disqualification. Accompanying persons may run outside the race course.
